You see I have been taught from a young age, to do my best, and give my all. If I set a goal, I can not stop until I finish it. I knew there was many more things I wanted to do, and I wanted to make sure I had the time to complete them. My days are completely filled with school, family and Kards 4 Soldiers, Kards 4 Kids, and Kards 4 You. Now when I say filled:
let me explain. Many people say they are busy, and have not time for this or that. What they really mean is my regular time is full, but I still reserve my free time for me. That is not true of me, or my family. I give my all, including my free time. In our home, there is no free time, no time is free, it all cost something. I work until 12 – 2 am everyday to complete my kards. I do not spend time with friends in idle, or frivolous activities. I even work during my lunch hour at college signing Kards 4 Soldiers, and my friends help me. They have folded over 20,000 Kards 4 Soldiers in the last 6 months.
My childhood friend Cooper Dauer, had won the James Guido Scholarship this year, that I won last year. I was happy when Cooper was chosen to represent Santa Clara County, along with me.
I spent the next month as Miss Santa Clara sending out letter to schools, public officials, and looking for ways to serve in my community. I also made lots of Kards attending some of the kards making sessions of my friends, fly to Washington DC & received an award, and prepared for Cal State Scholarship Competition. Something happened in July (see Miss California State tab on home page for the rest of the story.)
